Before we tackle design on your website you need to purchase hosting and register your domain. These are charges that you will pay and continue to pay for the lifetime of your site and recur on an annual basis.
A domain is the address where your site can be found. Hosting is where all the files, posts, pictures, etc for your site “live”. They can be purchased separately, but I would recommend they be purchased together if you can (they often throw in the domain for free the first year with a hosting purchase).
GoDaddy is an excellent and affordable choice and I am including instructions below on how to setup what you need!
Click on this link to get started!
Click on the green Get Started button.
You can feel free to chat with me about my recommendation for the plan to select. In almost every case, I would recommend ‘Basic’ as this will cover the majority of what you will need in the beginning and you can change your service level down the road if you need to.
Next you will select your domain name! You can add the name in the box provided and then click the next button to ensure its availability.
The longer the term you select the less expensive the plan is. Again, only select the term you feel comfortable with. Please note, you will be charged in full for the entire term of service (24 months, 36 months, etc).
From here, you will just need to enter your credit card information and complete your purchase!
